The catch is you almost never know which type you're buying until it's too late.

Market price for cracked accounts sits at $5–$10 each; combo lists typically start around $10. Operators in multiple groups (late 2025 through mid-2026) report a starker picture: cracked accounts getting shadowbanned within two posts, with one group flatly warning they're now unreliable as a baseline. A separate voice in the same period claims they need zero warm-up and can post immediately — the two positions have not been reconciled and the gap is real.

Take both seriously.

One operator described keeping a dedicated "clean" reference account solely to check whether cracked accounts were shadow-banned before relying on them for traffic. (Dr. Hadi Talks, Jul 2026) That's the correct protocol — verify visibility before you commit the posting budget.

The cookie import workaround. Because re-logging into a cracked account nukes its Content Quality Score and triggers trust flags (multiple operators, early–mid 2026), the correct method is to paste the account's existing cookies directly into an anti-detect browser like GoLogin rather than initiating a fresh login. One group specifically called out relogging as an account-killer: import the original cookie, never the password. If the cookie is gone, the account is effectively gone too.

The Middleman Rule Is Not Optional

Here is a named, public, on-the-record scam: an operator in a group (May 2026) reported that @xninjaninjax ghosted after a direct Reddit account sale with no middleman and then changed the account passwords, locking the buyer out permanently.

The cost of a middleman is trivial against the cost of a disappeared account.

The xninjaninjax incident is one data point — one group, one report, unverified beyond that source. But the pattern it describes is common enough that multiple groups across the entire Dec 2025–Jun 2026 window repeat the same rule: never transfer accounts without a middleman.

One group specifically named @marshal as a trusted middleman in the context of BTZ impersonation scams (more on that below).

One group in the same window flagged a simpler attack: a hired VA asking everyone to log out "to verify US region" — they were stealing accounts. The social engineering doesn't need to be sophisticated.

It just needs to work once.

The BTZ Impersonation Playbook

This one is almost elegant in its simplicity.

Scammers create accounts that look like @btzofm — a known figure in OFM operator communities — by swapping one character: the lowercase letter "l" becomes an uppercase "I". The resulting handle, @btzofficiai, is visually indistinguishable at normal reading speed on most screens.

Multiple operators in the same group (early–mid 2026) flagged this explicitly. The real account is @btzofm.

The real account never DMs operators unsolicited. The real account does not sell anything via DM.

If an account claiming to be BTZ slides into your DMs with an offer, you are looking at a scammer. Verify the exact username character by character.

Use a middleman. And report it to the group.

This is the impersonation template: find a trusted name, clone the handle with one invisible substitution, approach people who are pre-disposed to trust that name, and extract money or account credentials before they look closely. It works because people are busy and trust is pre-built.

Unban Services: The Fraud With a Price Tag

Multiple operators across several groups have paid for Reddit unban services. The results are grim.

One group stated directly: paying ~$300 to unban a shadowbanned Reddit account is a scam — just remake the accounts for roughly $20. Another group offered a more nuanced position: paying to unban can be legitimate, but you should never pre-pay and should demand proof the seller can actually perform the unban before handing over any money.

Those two positions conflict. The honest read is: the service exists in some form, but the fraud rate is high enough that pre-payment to an unverified seller is near-certain money loss.

For context: one operator noted that throwaway/suicide accounts cannot be unbanned at all — only main accounts have any realistic appeal path, and those cost significantly more (operators mentioned costs reaching into the thousands). If you are going to attempt an appeal on a valued account, Reddit's own appeal process is the starting point. One group noted that Rule 3 (non-consensual media) ban appeals can restore accounts within a few hours to three days.
